yikes! parasites!

For the last few months, i've been outwardly calm but inwardly freaking out at the thought of this little critter slithering around my innards. Today was the big day at the infectious disease clinic where my doctor poked and listened and asked some very personal questions. So far, he's giving me great news! My previous test results show traces and antigens of parasitic activity but no actual parasites. he's pretty sure that i'm clean as a whistle! Apparently, at some point i played hostess to a bunch of bad-boys but my body has been able to fight them off naturally. I will do one final test to confirm this wonderful theory. Just in time for a big trip to South America!

Japan night

I've been a very naughty blogger. It's been two weeks since Japan night and i'm only now posting about it. Although it was a little warm and crowded in my tiny townhome, eating on cushons in a small room certainly made the evening feel more authentic. Teresa created a lovely atomosphere by laying out fun japanese decor and tea cups. Steve dazzled us with his sushi making abilities (he makes better sushi than his sushi-sensei!). I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know several people i had never met before. All in all, it was a pretty groovie evening.

too many sushi chefs in the kitchen is always a blast. We (steve) made sushi, gyoza (jaleh), tempura (mr. debs), yaki soba (steve with scott's chopping skillz), miso soup (mr. debs and teresa), ocha (t), along with lots of fun snacks. the chopsticks were sizzling–even the ones in jaleh's hair!

somedays studying is better with friends. Amanda and meg joined me at rico's for a round of fun with apple's new photo booth before we all got to work... except for meg. i think she called in to work to hang out with amanda and i who both had to work on work stuff. i'm a little disoriented from all the fun and swirls.
