here's a glimpse into my work world: I've been working on a story about a missionary who was taken hostage while living in cote d'ivoire. I've had the opportunity to get to know this woman, so her story really hits home. I didn't want to show harsh, full-color images of the gunmen so this afternoon, i created a little set all in black and white. There are boxes and files labeled full of memories and sketching in charcoal - and water on the floor. it feels very abstract, images inside of images. this is a snap shot of the set. it makes me somehow happy to see.
